Tree Trimmers Tips and Ideas
The Importance of Tree Trimming and Tree Removal in Minnesota
Having a yard filled with beautiful old trees also means having the responsibility of taking care of them too. Trees limbs can fall or break at any time, they can begin to die and rot, and lightening can strike them therefore it is wise to understand what a tree service can do for you.
Leaving a tree to rot and die is probably not the best idea for your well-being. Without having maintenance done to the tree limbs will become weak, and the tree itself might tumble over onto your home, garage, vehicle, or other structures. Having a professional tree service come out and help is the way to avoid this from happening.
Overgrowth is another problem many people face when dealing with trees. Power lines are sometimes built without considering how a tree will grow. Then one year you notice an old tree on your property starting to interfere with the power lines. Or another problem with overgrowth is tree roots growing into foundations or driveways. Either way, overgrowth can become a problem and to protect your home you should have trees trimmed regularly.
Sometimes despite all your efforts nature can interfere and cause major issues with trees on your property. Lightning strikes to a tree can do anything from cracking a tree to causing the whole thing to fall down. Clean up after a storm can take days, depending on the amount of damage.
Most people overlook tree services and believe they can handle tree maintenance on their own. Trimming a few limbs, or picking up some fallen branches generally will be safe for you to do, but doing bigger jobs yourself can be hazardous. Whether dealing with cutting down larger branches or whole trees, the issue is you can not be sure where they will fall.
The reasoning behind people thinking they can do the work themselves is they are unaware of the skills behind a tree service. A professional service will be able to correctly judge where a tree or branch will fall; ensuring your structures and property is safe. Another added bonus they offer is possibly saving a tree of yours. Say you have a tree that a limb or two has began rotting. A tree service company will be able to correctly trim the tree in a fashion that will not harm the tree.
When you are hiring a tree service it is very important to hire a company that is fully insured. Even the best laid plans and most skilled tree professionals can accidentally cause damage. It is not always possible to predict what will happen when cutting larger limbs or cutting down trees. A fully insured company offers you protection should anything get damaged. This is another perk of hiring a professional tree service to handle your tree trimming needs. If you do it yourself and cause damage then you have to fight with your homeowners insurance and many times you end up having to pay for the damages.
Hiring a professional tree service is your best bet, especially when dealing with larger projects. They give you safety, give your property safety, and if anything is damaged they will cover the costs. Hiring a tree company is not expensive, and it is definitely cheaper paying to fix your damaged house or garage.

RE: Phone lines cut twice in two days. My neighbor's tree trimmers may have cut the phone lines to my home
My question is: Who is going to pay for this repair? My line is buried, but they got it anyway. Someone told me I would have to pay $100 for each visit from the phone company. I know the neighbor won't pay and the Tree Trimmer won't either! We paid for the original burial of lines when we remodeled our house some years ago. Whadda you think? We didn't call the phone company or utilities, since we didn't know the big truck was coming....and shouldn't have been in our yard anyway! We're outta luck?

Shouldn't those who live off the tithe offering also work for the church?
Deuteronomy 14:22 requires one to support the Levites with their increase. Increase means the profit, not the gross amount. The Levites (Church) received no inheritance from the land of Israel, so lived off the tithe. This included all the Levite family who worked, such as singers, cleaners, door keepers, teachers, weed cutters, tree trimmers, grass cutters, etc.
I often wonder why those who pay tithe only pay the preacher, are often asked to maintain the church premisis when their family, who lives off the tithe, do little, or work at outside employment. Kinda like stealing from the flock, wouldn't you say?

Does anyone know how to treat blight in a flowering pear tree? Our tree-trimmers charge $500 to treat it!?
The tree dropped its leaves after they developed black spots, and the diagnosis was "blight." We don't want to lose it, but would like to try and treat it ourselves at a more reasonable cost!
Thank you!

Can a wireless internet co. say cut your trees for better signal for others or no internet for you?
Wireless company said we either let them trim our trees at their expense so they can have a signal at the next town over or they will move their antennae and we get no wireless. Then told the tree trimmers to down any trees in the way of their signal on our property basically without our permission, and we have to deal with at least three downed 20+ foot tall cottonwoods on our own. Do we have any rights?

Drawbacks of tree trimings as mulch?
I get many loads of chopped up tree trimmings from local tree trimmers working for the REMC. I use it everywhere as mulch. Beautiful dark brown dirt in 3 years. But I read where the much will "draw" Nitrogen out of the earth. I think this may be right as tomato plants in the mulch this year did poorly. What is the easiest and cheapest way to replace the Nitrogen ? For the most part, I don't want anything growing in the mulch, but when I put it around trees, etc., I probably should be restoring the Nitrogen.

Is there a way to KNOW if a tree needs to be cut down?
We have a very large tree which has some damage to the trunk from termites and age. But the tree still looks healthy, and is the only shade we have in the yard. I have some pictures of the tree if anyone is bored & has the time to view them
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v79/renaeaz76/tree/tree004.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v79/renaeaz76/tree/tree006.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v79/renaeaz76/tree/tree016.jpg
It is a "V" shape and has been gutted out at the base of the "V" and it also has a basketball size hole in the back of the trunk. There is also a large bulging section on the trunk.
Local tree trimmers won't look at it because its a few feet from major powerlines, and if we call the city to remove it they'll take it down whether it needs it or not. So trying to get some input before we call the city, thanks!!!!

What is the legal way to proceed in trimming a tree from a neighbors property?
We have a large half dead pine tree hanging over our property line from our neighbors yard. It is too large to trim without a professional. When we had tree work done to remove trees from around our house, we asked permission from the neighbor to trim the tree. Originally we recieved permission from wife, but when the tree trimmers asked permission to go into their yard the husband said no, but that we could pay to cut it down. We in no way intended to pay that much money. When we contacted to town, we were told we had the legal right to trim overhanging branches, but not by trespassing on their property. There is no way to trim it without getting into the tree. We now have vermin in our attic that have gained access from their tree. How do we legally proceed? I now have to pay to have someone remove the vermin from my HOUSE.
A ladder? Really? Never heard of one. I wonder why I wasted all my time typing completely forgetting about a ladder. Oh, yeah, because is too high, genius.
