Plant Growing Tips and Ideas
Grow Bigger Plants and Healthier Vegetables Once You Know How Plants Grow
Understanding how plants grow is helpful whether you enjoy outside gardening or indoor plants. The more you know about how plants grow the more success you'll have with all your gardening. This small report shows how the root, stem, and leaves of a plant work together to maintain healthy plant growth.
Plants, like other life forms, need food for their growth, survival and reproduction. Plant food is collected from different places. From the air carbon dioxide is taken in, then later released as oxygen. From the soil water, oxygen and other nutrients are absorbed and used to stimulate plant growth. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are the most vital nutrients for all plants. Other micronutrients play an important part in a plants growth and development as well.
A plants root acts as an anchor and is responsible for absorbing nutrients and water from the soil. The root hair is where most of this work begins. The main root stores water and other nutrients and then release them as needed. Most plants are programmed to grow upwards towards the sunlight and circulating air. A strong stem will give the plant support needed to reach this goal. In addition, the plant stem acts like a human circulatory system, transporting nutrients from roots to other parts of the plant.
A plant also absorbs nutrients through its leaves. On the underside of a leaf are tiny pores, where carbon dioxide enters. The dioxide is then combined with nutrients and water to produce carbohydrates that then feed the plant. The more leaves a plant has, the more nourishment it can produce for its own use.
These are just a few basics of how plants grow. You will experience greater success, fewer problems and far more enjoyment from all your gardening experiences. Isn't that what you want?

How to care for new aquatic plant?
My specific question would be: How do I separate the plant from the wool and pot?
The 'wool' looks to be a sponge of some sort that the plant grew in. I looked online and it's called rockwool. I bought one of these before, and nearly tore the entire root system up removing the plant since the roots develop and entangle.
Thanks!

Can someone help me with some easy advice?
So I'm setting up a garden plot for next year.
Everything is going well so far. The soil is near ready (just waiting on some results to add anything else).
Seeds are ready....Seed station ready.....
I'm just having a brain stump though on this one part.
There's a stump in the garden, and I can't get it out, so I built a raised bed frame around it, I'll fill it in, and just plant over top of it.
The posts I used to hold up the frame were long before I cut them. I had all these ideas to get vines and peas to grow up the posts as they would act as a support/trellis.
However, the stump is in the middle of the garden! One the West side, and on the South side!!
So that means if I keep having plants grow up out of it, they will or may shade the plants to the east of it a little, and to the north of it a little.
So I"m thinking about sticking with my original plant and just keeping it a raised bed.
Should I just stick with that plan? Since if I had a trellis in it the vines would grow tall and shade out other plants?
I guess I could always put a trellis somewhere else in a more apropriate spot in the garden where they vines will thrive without shading any plants.
What do you guys think?

Could peas, morning glory, other similar vines, and maybe even cucumbers grow through this net?
I have some of this net laying around and it's really quite sturdy.
My dog tried to run through it and she did, but she had a heck of a time.
Then she tried to do it again, and bounced right back!
But to the point, I can support this net really well with some posts I have and staples, maybe even ties.
I'm wondering though, could those plants grow through it? The squares seem a little on the small side, but as far as I recall, morning glories and peas don't really have too thick of a vine anyways.
I've never grown cucumbers before, and I understand they have heavy fruit!
Here is a website I found using google that represents the fence I'm talking about.
Don't worry, the website link is ok. It's a picture of a deer and chicken, separated by the fence I'm mentioning.

Dog pees and poops in the house!?
We rescued a dog less than a year old. Someone had dropped her off at my husband's place of work. She's a sweet dog with a good disposition. I let her out first thing in the morning to do her business and then bring her inside the house. We put her back outside from around 3- 7 p.m. daily. When she comes into the house, after settling down she will invariably go either into my husband's office (if the door is left open) and pee or poop. If the door is closed she will go into the kitchen and do her business on my rug in front of the sink, or poop in the corner of the kitchen where I have a large plant growing. It doesn't matter how long she's been outdoors nor how often I place her outside, she will still resort to doing her business in our house. I'm continually cleaning up after her and noticing house odors. Does anyone know the reason why she is doing this and can anyone give me some advise on how to train her to do her business outdoors? Will she have to become a permanent outdoor dog from now on? Help!

Arent we so much like the earth and so are other living biengs why do we hurt her?
Plants grow on earth bees pollinate them so they can have sex trees blossom because animals eat them so they can flourish again water works like our veins beavers help make ponds and hundreds more things every living being on this earth has a purpose
The same is with our organs one of our organ suffers and the whole being suffers
Global warming is not just hurting earth were it is happening, all of earth is hurt
The reason we poach animals scares me not only because our great grandchildren wont see them like we would like to see a saber tooth or a T-rex
Yet if she is so similar to us and is our only home why do we do such things to her
Earth is our home but she does not belong to us
All the gifts that have given to us by god, we are destroying till the day the only foods we will be eating is wheat and corn we will be truly sorry but it will be too late
While we throw food that we call thrash away all that food could be enough to feed all the hungry
If you think one person wont make a difference think again if we all say that to ourselves we will never change our ways
people think the government will do it all well they arent why are we waiting for others to do what we should all be doing together
but one does matter one god matters one earth matters one galaxy matters one universe matters one species matters one and every human matters
Think of that, any SINGLE one of the obove does matter and without just ONE of those we would not be here (you and all your friends would not exist)
one less oil wel would matter one less nuclear plant would matter one less lie would matter
We have to leave socialization behind and mature and realize this is no joke and change our ways of life as it might not affect your life but it will affect your great grandchildren if we do not stop this
I would like to hear other peoples thoughts on how we are hurting earth and if you think well ever change before its to late
And please at least recycle its better than nothing
